ABSTRACT: This research aimed at finding out: 1) the profiles of addiction smokers among students at State Senior High School 3 Pekanbaru 3 Pekanbaru, 2) the factors influencing addiction smoking behavior at State Senior High School 3 Pekanbaru, 3) the efforts of Guidance and Counseling teachers in overcoming addiction smoking behavior among students at State Senior High School 3 Pekanbaru , and 4) the factors supporting and obstructing Guidance and Counseling teacher efforts to overcome addiction smoking behavior among students of State Senior High School 3 Pekanbaru. It was qualitative research with case study and descriptive research design. The informants of this research were Guidance and Counseling teachers and the tenth-grade students at State Senior High School 3 Pekanbaru. The objects of this research were addiction smoking behavior and efforts to overcome it. The techniques of collecting data used in this research were observation, interview, and documentation. Data analysis techniques in this research were data reduction, data display, and drawing conclusions. The research findings indicated that: 1) Smoking addiction among students is caused by the influence of parents, friendship circles, and also the living environment; 2) Factors include the influence of cigarette advertising, peer influence, weak parental control over children and lack of self-control; 3) The efforts that have been made by guidance and counseling teachers are in the form of preventive efforts to implement information services, information services during orientation and information about rules and regulations, then curative efforts to carry out individual counseling for students who are identified as addicted smokers; 4) The supporting factor for the guidance and counseling teacher's efforts to overcome smoking addiction behavior is because of the support from student representatives and homeroom teachers, while the inhibiting factor for the guidance and counseling teacher's efforts to overcome smoking addiction behavior is due to time constraints where there are no guidance and counseling hours in class. then there is a lack of parental participation where parents ignore their child's problems.

ABSTRAK: Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui: 1) profil siswa kecanduan rokok di kalangan siswa di SMA N 3 Pekanbaru, 2) faktor yang mempengaruhi perilaku kecanduan merokok dikalangan SMAN 3 Pekanbaru, 3) upaya guru bimbingan dan konseling dalam mengatasi perilaku kecanduan merokok di kalangan siswa di SMAN 3 Pekanbaru, 4) faktor pendukung dan penghambat upaya guru bimbingan dan konseling dalam mengatasi perilaku kecanduan merokok di kalangan siswa di SMAN 3 Pekanbaru. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian kualitatif dengan jenis studi kasus dan desain penelitian bersifat deskriptif informan penelitian ini yaitu guru bimbingan dan konseling dan siswa kelas X SMAN 3 Pekanbaru. Objek penelitian ini adalah perilaku kecanduan merokok dan upayamengatasinya Teknik pengumpulan data yang digunakan penelitian ini adalah observasi, wawancara, dan dokumentasi. Teknik analisis data dalam penelitian ini menggunakan tahapan reduksi data, penyajian data, dan penarikan kesimpulan. Hasil dari penelitian ini menunjukan bahwa: 1) kecanduan merokok dikalangan siswa disebabkan karena pengaruh orang tua, lingkungan pertemanan, dan juga lingkungan tempat tinggal.2) faktor diantaranya pengaruh iklan rokok, pengaruh teman sebaya, lemahnya kontrol orang tua terhadap anak serta kurangnya kontrol diri. 3) upaya yang telah dilakukan guru bimbingan dan konseling yaitu berupa upaya preventif melaksanakan layanan informasi, Layanan informasi pada saat orentasi dan informasi tentang tata tertib, kemudian upaya kuratif melaksanakan konseling individual terhadap siswa yang teridentikasi perokok kecanduan. 4) faktor pendukung upaya guru bimbingan dan konseling mengatasi perilaku kecanduan merokok yaitu karena adanya dukungan dari wakil kesiswaan dan wali kelas, sedangkan faktor penghambat upaya guru bimbingan dan konseling mengatasi perilaku kecanduan merokok yaitu karena adanya kendala waktu dimana tidak ada jam bimbingan dan konseling masuk ke kelas, kemudian kurangnya partisipasi orang tua di mana orang tua mengabaikan masalah anaknya.
